AIKO unveils next-gen N-type ABC solar modules
AIKO, a global clean energy technology company, has introduced its GEN 2 N-type ABC (All Back Contact) modules (the ‘Neostar’, ‘Comet’, and ‘Stellar’ series) at Key Energy trade fair in Rimini, Italy in February, setting new benchmarks for performance across residential, C&I, and utility-scale applications.
The new generation products feature high power output, innovative partial shading optimisation, and high temperature restriction.
"We are thrilled to launch our latest ABC modules, which represents a significant leap forward in solar energy technology," said Chen Gang, Chairman of AIKO. "With these advancements, we are empowering our customers of all installation types with superior efficiency, optimised levelised cost of energy (LCOE), and accelerated returns on investment."
The Gen 2 modules feature an innovative partial shading optimisation function, allowing users to maximise energy production even in challenging shading conditions caused by trees, leaves, chimneys, bird droppings, soiling, and snow.
"This breakthrough in partial shading performance is poised to revolutionise the solar industry," remarks Christian Peter, Managing Director of SolarLab AIKO Europe. "TÜV Nord test shows, with only one solar cell fully shaded, our ABC modules can generate 30% more power compared to traditional technology."
Additionally, the second-generation ABC modules provide a critical benefit of high temperature restriction, ensuring lower module temperature and reduced fire risk, particularly in shaded environments, thanks to AIKO’s technology innovation.
The latest ABC modules also offer other industry-leading characteristics with better temperature coefficient of –0.26%/°C, less performance degradation (≤ 1% in 1st year degradation, ≤ 0.35% annual degradation from year 2–30) and improved micro-crack resistance.
Product details:
- ABC ‘Neostar’ series: The ‘Neostar’ module series feature a power rating range of 440-470W, aiming at the residential scenario. Offered both in mono (2N/2P/2S) and dual-glass (2S+) versions, they combine high power with compacted module area (1,757 x 1,134mm; <2m²), very high efficiency of up to 23.6% and pure black aesthetics, upgraded roof-safety feature.
- ABC ‘Comet’ series: The ‘Comet’ modules series for the C&I scenario comes at power ratings from 600–630W and very high module efficiencies of up to 23.9%, promising optimal rooftop space utilisation with fast payback and high lifecycle benefits. The Comet series (2,323 x 1,134mm) is available both in mono (2S) and dual-glass (2S+) versions.
- ABC ‘Stellar’ series: The ‘Stellar’ module series is a large format (2,382 x 1,134) bifacial product available with power ratings from 620–640W and very high efficiencies up to 23.7% for the utility scenario. This product is designed to optimise LCOE for different landscapes. For floating and tidal flats applications, there is an upgrade ‘waterproof package’, including water resistance encapsulation, anti-corrosion frames, and waterproof caps.
