AC/DC power supply is capable of delivering 35W
Tumbler Technologies + TRUMPower has launched an addition to its AC/DC switching power supply line-up with the Class II THC35 series, which is BF rated. Specifically designed with the unique requirements of the home healthcare environment in mind, the Class II construction THC35 series is compliant to 4th edition medical EMC standards including the ability to withstand ESD of 8kV contact and 15kV air.
Possible applications for the THC35 series include electrotherapeutic, patient monitoring, and portable medical devices. It is capable of delivering 35W (5V at 30W) of continuous output power at convection cooling. Standard form factor is an open frame PCB in a low profile 2x3x1.12” package. The power supply series has a maximum operating altitude specification of 5000 meters. It also has an active efficiency of 87% typical at 115VAC, 89% typical at 230VAC and the no load power consumption is less than 0.3W.
The power supply can withstand voltage of 4,000VAC from input to output, providing 2 MOPP between input and output. The series includes 5 standard single output models: 5, 12, 15, 18, 24V, with touch current measuring 100µA maximum at 264VAC, 63Hz. Output voltage is factory preset specifically to meet the user’s request.
Operating at a 90 to 264VAC universal input, the unit is equipped with over voltage, over current, short circuit, and over temperature protections. It operates at -20 to +70°C ambient with derating required from 100% at +50°C linearly to 70% at +70°C. Demonstrating a MTBF greater than 250,000 hours at full load at 25°C ambient per MIL-HDBK-217F, it proves to be highly reliable.
The THC35 series complies with RoHS requirements and is designed to meet IEC 60601-1-2:2014 (4th edition) EMC standards and 3rd edition IEC/EN 60601-1 medical standards. It is also designed to conform to other EMC standards that include EN55011/55022 & FCC Class B conducted & radiated, EN61000-3-2, EN61000-3-3, EN61000-4-2, EN61000-4-3, EN61000-4-4, EN61000-4-5, EN61000-4-6, EN61000-4-8, and EN61000-4-11.
