SL Power Electronics has announced the latest addition to its Ault family of AC/DC external power supplies. The CENT1120 series comprises single output, desktop-style power supplies with an output range of 110 to 120W.

The new family complies with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Energy Star Level IV and Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA) requirements. Ault CENT1120 units are available in five voltages from 12 to 48V.

With new EISA regulations effective as of July 1 this year, OEMs need compliant power supplies like the Ault CENT1120 that meet demanding energy-efficiency and conservation guidelines, says Nigel Davies, European Managing Director for SL Power Electronics. The CE-compliant CENT1120 series also meets the global safety agency standards many of our customers require for a broad range of applications.

“Our Ault brand has been part of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star program for more than three years. We have also been involved with the California Energy Commission (CEC) and other global agencies focused on environmental issues. In the US, EISA regulations and EPA’s Energy Star Level IV are the next phases in energy efficiency and we want our customers to know that our power solutions meet the highest standards. This legislation will probably affect anyone who supplies products requiring external commercial power supplies into the US after July 1st and that is a large number of our customers here in Europe.” Davies concludes.

The Ault CENT1120 family is suitable for applications in the industrial, computer peripheral, networking, displays and test/measurement markets. The series also meets EMI/RFI regulations and is IPX1-compliant, featuring casings that can withstand falling water at a rate of 10mm per minute for 10 minutes with no water reaching the internal components.

All models feature a universal input of 100 to 240Vac and an impact-resistant, non-vented polycarbonate enclosure. The device is priced at $39.38 in OEM quantities.
