Flexible Inverter Satisfies Wide Range of Applications
The Quasar Inverter from Gresham Power will find a wide variety of uses over and above supplying high quality AC power from a DC source.
Integrated RGB controllers simplify design of diode sequencing for portable systems
To generate the three colours in an RGB LED, designers would typically need to use three separate MOSFETs, all the associated interface circuitry, and three GPIO pins on the system processor to drive the RGB LED. With AnalogicTech’s AAT4295 and AAT4297, designers can now support up to two RGB LEDs while eliminating the need for discrete MOSFETs and save the GPIO lines for other system functions.
75W ATX compatible power supply on PC/104 architecture
Providing up to 75W output capability with an integrated UPS and battery charger for NiMH and SVLA batteries, the new Micronix PV-5127S from Datasound Laboratories is said to be the first ATX compatible power supply on PC/104 architecture.
Tiny video driver removes GSM interference
A highly integrated, single supply video driver from Intersil has an 8 MHz low-pass filter that removes GSM noise from the video band, and also serves as an anti-aliasing filter. The ISL59111 also provides the added benefit of seeing input signals below ground.
Power supply charger combination is ideal for remote telemetry systems
Omniflex has introduced what it believes will solve voltage incompatibility problems in remote telemetry applications. The PT L50C-D is a combined power supply and dual charger that runs from a universal 85 to 264V AC input and is designed specifically for those applications that need to maintain both 12 and 24V systems.
High Voltage MOSFET is optimised for power supply start-up
A high voltage MOSFET from Zetex Semiconductors has been introduced to handle the requirements of pre-bias supply circuitry. A 450V enhancement mode N-channel device, the ZXMN0545G4 is used in a simple linear regulator to supply PWM ICs at start-up, and is disabled once the converter is fully on.
Current monitor enables true short circuit current monitoring
With its wide common mode sense range of 0V to within 2V of the supply voltage applied, the ZXCT1051 current monitor from Zetex Semiconductors enables true short circuit current monitoring.
Miniature bipolar package increases power supply efficiency
Combining complementary NPN and PNP transistors in the SOT236 package, the ZXTC2045E6 from Zetex Semiconductors produces the drive requirement needed to switch high power MOSFETs and IGBTs in power supply designs.
Voltage regulator powers next-generation graphics processing units
Intersil's latest single-phase buck voltage regulator is designed to power next-generation graphics processing units (GPUs) or graphics cores used on Intel Santa Rosa platforms. The device reduces power consumption and enhances the performance of the GPU by dynamically changing output voltage and operation modes corresponding to the advanced GPU control protocol.
175W AC/DC switcher delivers any required voltage on each of four outputs
XP Power has introduced an AC/DC switching power supply that enables users to specify any voltage level up to the maximum rating of each output while still maintaining full agency approvals. Other power supplies only permit pre-defined output voltages in order to maintain the approvals status.
