Delivering a typical efficiency up to 94% with a flat efficiency curve over virtually the entire load range, XP Power has announced the CCL400 series of highly efficient convection cooled 400W AC/DC power supplies. The CCL400 complies with the standard 1U chassis mount format, measuring 100.3x177.8x39.9mm (3.95x7.00x1.57").

The CCL400 series is suited for medical systems, such as life support, imaging and blood processing equipment, that stipulate low audible noise specifications. The power supplies also suit industrial and technology solutions that require a very high power density from a convection or conduction cooled power supply.

High efficiency means that minimal heat is generated, allowing the components within the CCL400 to run at lower temperatures to increase reliability and service life. Operating over a wide temperature range from -40 to +50°C, the CCL400 can continuously deliver the full 400W output with convection cooling over the entire input voltage and temperature ranges. The power supply can also be conduction cooled to enable the full 400W output at up to +70°C ambient temperature.

The series is comprised of four single-output models with popular nominal output voltages of +12, +24, +30 or +48VDC. Output voltage adjustment of ±3% via a user trim function accommodates load losses. Protection features and control signals include power fail signal, remote sense and remote on/off. Logic circuits can be powered by a +5VDC/0.5A always-on output.

The CCL400 series conforms to the ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 medical 3rd edition safety standard and the internationally recognised IEC/UL/EN60950-1 safety standard for IT equipment. The power supply includes a three year warranty.
