Operating over a wide 4:1 input range, the PXC-M series of 3, 6 and 10W DC/DC converters in the industry standard DIP-24 footprint have been unveiled by TDK-Lambda. With 5,000VAC input to output isolation, these medically certified converters are suitable for use in a broad spectrum of medical applications and battery powered equipment.

Accepting either a 9 to 36 or 18 to 75VDC input, the PXC-M series is available with output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, 24, ±5, ±12 and ±15VDC. Operation from 12 and 24V, or 24 and 48V, nominal inputs reduces inventory carrying costs and improves part availability.

Measuring just 31.8x20.3x10.2mm, the units will operate in ambient temperatures of -40 to +105°C (with de-rating above 77°C for the 10W and 94°C for the 3W models). Optional features include an output voltage adjustment of up to -10% to +20% and remote on-off. Over-current and over-voltage protection is standard on all models. Off-load input current draw is a mere 6mA for 24V input and 4mA for 48V input models, making it attractive for battery powered products.

The PXC-M series is fully isolated with an input to output isolation of 5,000VAC (2 x MOPPs) and less than 0.25μA patient leakage current. Safety certification includes IEC/EN 60601-1 and ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives.
