Designed specifically for use in industrial, automation and instrumentation applications, the MEF1 series of 1 Watt regulated DC/DC converters have been introduced by Murata Power Solutions. The single rail regulated output makes the converters ideal choice for power sensors, such as pressure transducers, hall effect sensors and mass airflow sensors.

Rated to better than 1% of nominal output voltage, the tightly regulated single output converters are available with either 1 or 3kV dc input to output isolation (the 3kV dc model features an enhanced immunity to voltage transients). With output voltage options of 3.3 or 5.0V dc, users can specify input voltages covering the popular nominal inputs from 3.3 to 24V.

The MEF1 series offers a 13% improvement in energy efficiency, when compared to previously available models. Operating over a temperature range from -40 to +85°C without derating, the converters are packaged in a fully encapsulated single-in-line through-hole format occupying less than 1.17 cm squared footprint. Certification to the internationally recognized safety standard UL60950 is pending.
