Tecate's PowerBurst Ultracapacitor Cells and Modules Receive UL 810A Recognition
Tecate Industries announced UL 810A Recognition for specific series of cells and modules in their PowerBurst® family of ultracapacitors. The UL 810A standard covers ultracapacitors (electrochemical double-layer capacitors), and is intended to further ensure the safety of today’s and next-generation electronic products and systems. Tecate’s UL 810A Recognized ultracapacitors are members of the PowerBurst family which includes general-purpose TPL/TPLS Series of 2.7V cells, and the PBL/PBLL Series of 5.4V modules. Notably, by designing-in UL Recognized PowerBurst parts for end products and systems, additional component-level testing is minimized, reducing both time and costs.
As pBoasting a wide operating temperature range of -40 degrees C to +65 degrees C, a limitless charge/discharge cycle life (500K cycles) and a low Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR), PowerBurst ultracapacitors promote optimal product and system performance. The cylindrical, radial leaded 2.7V TPL and 2.7 TPLS cells with snap-in leads are available in capacitance values ranging from 0.5 F to 400 F. They are provided in sizes from 8 mm (D) x 12 mm (L) to 35 mm (D), to 35 mm (D) X 60 mm (L). Tecate’s 5.4V UL 810A Recognized modules include the radial-leaded PBL series and the PBLL series, which utilizes flexible leads and a JST ZHR-2 quick connector. PBL/PBLL parts feature a capacitance range of from 0.25 F to 15.0 F. Sizes in this series range from 18.0 mm (L) X 9.0 mm (W) X 16.0 mm (H), to 37.0 mm (L) X 35.0 mm (W) X 17.5 mm (T).
