As electronics continue to advance, the demand for highly reliable components is on the rise. Many modern applications also require components that offer greater power dissipation and superior pulse withstanding capabilities, all within increasingly compact case sizes.

To address these evolving needs without imposing excessive costs or long lead times, Stackpole has introduced its automotive-grade resistor family. This product range now includes the new RPCA-UP series in a 0603 chip size, designed specifically to meet higher power pulse requirements within a smaller footprint.

The RPCA-UP series 0603 chip boasts an impressive power rating of 0.33W, significantly higher than the typical 0.125W rating for this size. The series is AEC-Q200 qualified and delivers exceptional pulse handling due to proprietary materials, design, and manufacturing techniques. The RPCA-UP series has demonstrated remarkable performance across all AEC-Q200 tests, improving the expected failure rate by at least tenfold compared to standard resistors. Furthermore, it offers excellent resistance to sulfur, having successfully passed the ANSI/EIA-977 sulfur test with minimal resistance shift at 105°C.
