Popular Miniature Lock Switch Is Now Waterproof
Lorlin Electronics reports a very positive response to the introduction of waterproof versions of its very successful SRL series key operated miniature lock switches. Manufactured at the Lorlin factory in the UK the new WRL waterproof model is BSI tested for sealing to IP66 and IP67 with both SRL and WRL switch types offering single or double pole electrical contacts.
The Rob Peach, Technical Marketing Manager for Lorlin Electronics comments,”To meet customer requests for secure waterproof switching we have introduced the new WRL sealed key lock. This new product is the same form and fit as the existing SRL switch but has both external and internal seals to prevent water ingress. It will withstand salt spray exposure to severity 1 and has been tested to IP66 and IP67 by BSI.”
Requiring just a 16mm diameter panel hole the SRL/WRL lock switches are very compact, simplifying panel layout by minimizing panel size. Easily mounted through the panel from the front, the robust switch assembly projects less than 30mm from the rear of the mounting panel. An optional M16 Earthing tag may be specified where panels require insulation. All SRL/WRL switches are RoHS compliant.
Both 60˚ and 90˚ key indexing versions are available and the key may be inserted into the lock either way up and withdrawn when the switch is on or when the switch is off. The SRL/WRL miniature lock switch is rated for currents up to 5A at 115VAC non-switched and has an operating temperature range of –20 to +65°C. The lock bezel may be specified finished in silver or black.
