Rugged, Customisable Footswitch introduced by Foremost Electronics
Foremost Electronics announced the availability of the Marquardt Mechatronik GmbH foot switch. Suitable for use in harsh industrial environments, including high dust and water areas, the footswitch is protected to IP 65 and IP 67 levels. Employing user-friendly ergonomics the footswitch is a compact robust design with clear tactile feedback and an anti-skid surface with a screw hole option for fixing to the floor.

The 2420 footswitch can switch control signals up to 100.000 actuations and is rated at 16(8)A/250VAC (> 10.000 actuations) and 16(4)A/250 VAC (> 25.000 actuations) for Europe and 6A/125 - 250 VAC, ½HP for the USA. Additional switch ratings available on demand include 21(8)A/250VAC and 21A/250VAC, 2 HP.
Standard switching functions are available single or double pole with functions of off/ on, off /on (latching) and on/on. Also available to special order is a 2 x single pole option with switch functions of off/ on/on or on/on/on with further options available on request.
The 2420 footswitch is approved to IEC/UL 61058 (ENEC, UL and CSA), is protected to IP 65 and IP 67, meets the flammability requirements of UL 94 V-2 and is suitable for use with appliances of protection class II. The footswitch has a mechanical life endurance > 100.000 cycles, an operating temperature range of -20 to +85 °C and termination options of standard connection clamps or a cable harness.
