C&K's miniature tactile switches live longer
C&K Components, a division of CoActive Technologies, the new company formed following the acquisition of ITT’s switch division by Littlejohn, has announced that two of its ranges of tact switches now feature an extended operating life, making them the most reliable choice for designers of industrial, automotive and consumer products.
Of pC&K’s high quality manufacturing process have also resulted in a significant increase in the operational life of its KSC series tact switches – targeted at the industrial sector – which now perform up to 1,000,000 cycles, the equivalent of 274 operations every day for ten years. Measuring 6.2x6.2x2.5mm, these totally sealed devices feature silver or gold plating, J or G terminations, different actuator types, normally open contacts and a range of five actuation forces.
As with all C&K tact switches, both KSC and KSR series devices are compliant with RoHS legislation.
Comments Gary Mountford, C&K’s sales and marketing director: “Reliability has become a strategic issue for most consumers of electronic components. Thanks to our high quality manufacturing processes, we have been able to extend the life expectancy of our already industry-leading tactile switches even further, outperforming our customers’ quality objectives and enabling them to offer even longer guarantees for their own products, therefore improving their brand image.”
