Wet tantalum capacitors boast ultra-high capacitance range
High-energy EP1 series wet tantalum capacitors from Vishay are now in stock in Europe at TTI. Built on Vishay’s proven SuperTan technology, the products feature an ultra high capacitance range from 2,000µF to 30,00 µF and voltage ratings from 25VDC to 125VDC in the A case code.
Nitride precision chip resistors add 10ppm TCR capability
Stackpole has announced its AEC qualified RTAN series which utilises tantalum nitride technology to provide moisture proof precision chip resistor performance. The RTAN film passes biased humidity testing at 85°C, 85% relative humidity, and ten percent bias with very little shift in resistance. The materials and design are such that the RTAN is resistant to sulfur contamination and will pass the industry standard sulfur test ANSI/EIA-977 (Met...
Thin film chip resistors deliver power dissipation to 0.4W
A series of Automotive Grade thin film chip resistors that features the industry's highest rated power dissipation in the compact 0402, 0603, and 0805 case sizes has been launched by Vishay Intertechnology. For electronics in automotive, industrial, and renewable energy applications, Vishay Beyschlag MC HP series devices combine high operating temperatures to +175 °C with low load life drift ≤ 0.2 % after 1,000 hours of operation at rated ...
Compact TVS diode array suitable for mobile devices
Circuit protection company, Littelfuse, has introduced a new series of small-footprint TVS Diode Arrays (SPA diodes) that are optimised for protecting high-speed signal pins. The SP3422-04UTG series 0.2pF 22kV TVS Diode Array integrates four channels of ultra-low capacitance rail-to-rail diodes and an additional zener diode to provide protection for electronic equipment that may be exposed to destructive electrostatic discharges (ESD).
Making energy cleaner with harmonic filters
Power systems manufacturer, REO UK has extended its range of harmonic filters with the REOWAVE passive plus. The new product features specially developed control circuitry that minimises reactive power by only activating the filter circuit at certain currents, while also protecting the device against overheating and electrical overload. This technology reduces power consumption of the overall electrical system by approximately 20%.
Electrolytic capacitor breaks energy density barriers
A development in aluminum electrolytic technology from Cornell Dubilier Electronics (CDE) is now in stock at New Yorker Electronics. The CDE 85°C THA Series ThinPack capacitors are only 8.2mm thick, and only 9mm in the 105°C THAS Series. Comparable in height to V-chip electrolytics, tantalums and board-mounted axials, the THA and THAS offer much higher bulk-storage energy density.
DC-Link capacitors suitable for industrial and infrastructure use
Two recently introduced series of DC-Link capacitors from Panasonic Automotive & Industrial Systems Europe benefit from key technological advantages initially developed for the automotive segment. Mainly targeted at the power inverter and switching power supply markets, the EZPQ and EZPE series serve as AC-Link and DC-Link capacitors respectively. Both series use Panasonic’s patterned metallisation technology.
MLCCs meet extreme automotive operating temperatures
The operating temperature range of Vishay Intertechnology’s HOTcap K…H series of Automotive Grade, radial-leaded multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs) has been extended to +200°C. The Vishay BCcomponents leaded MLCCs are now approved for operation over a temperature range of -55°C to +200°C for 500 hours, and they provide unlimited operation to +175°C.
TVS array designed for circuit protection in computer interfaces
ProTek Devices has introduced a new Transient Voltage Suppressor array (TVS array) designed for circuit protection in various popular interfaces such as Gigabit Ethernet, FireWire, wireless communications components, USB 3.0, HDMI 2.0, and the type-C connector. It protects against Electrostatic Discharges (ESD) and Electrical Fast Transients (EFT).
Anti-surge thru-hole resistors offer high voltage pulse handling
Global resistor manufacturer, Stackpole, has announced its ASR/ASRM series anti-surge thru-hole resistors offer high voltage pulse handling and defined pulse power characteristics. From the ASRM14 1/4W size rated at 500V to the ASRM1 1W and ASRM2 2W both rated at 4KV, this series is a suitable choice for high voltage applications requiring a robust cost effective axial leaded resistor.
