Lead times grow as passive component market slows
Working closely with its supplier network and customers, Chemigraphic is trying to combat an industry-wide delay on the manufacture and delivery of passive electronic components. Lead times for MLCC SMD Capacitors and SMD Resistors have been experiencing extended lead times or allocation times for the last few quarters, and in some cases lead times are now exceeding 50 weeks.
Robust clip-attach package design supports mechanical durability
Littelfuse has upgraded its switching thyristor line with the introduction of the SJ Series High Temperature SCR (Silicon-Controlled Rectifier) Switching Thyristors. This new series offers circuit designers blocking voltages (VDRM) up to 600V and current ratings from 4-40A to support a wide range of applications. By offering designers a wider operating margin than earlier SCRs, they make it possible to tolerate insufficient cooling and highe...
High performance RF inductors to showcase at IMS 2018
Recent advancements in Gowanda’s design technology and manufacturing capability has delivered significant improvement - nearly two times or more - in SRF and current ratings for these new inductors as compared to traditional moulded designs with equivalent inductance.
Leaded MOV's designed for overvoltage protection
Stackpole's RV series of radial leaded metal oxide varistors is available in a wide range of disk sizes and working voltages designed for general purpose overvoltage protection. The RV series is UL1449 certified and offers disk sizes from 5 up to 20mm with peak current ratings up to 18,000A and energy handling up to 792J. The RV series offers protection for electronics with operating voltages ranging from 14 to 1,465VDC.
High-temperature ceramic and tantalum capacitor solutions
AVX Corporation, is showcasing its portfolio of high-temperature capacitor solutions during the exposition portion of the International Microelectronics Assembly and Packaging Society’s (IMAPS’) International Conference on High Temperature Electronics (HiTEC 2018), which will take place 8th-10th May in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is widely recognised as the industry’s premier biennial technical conference dedicated to the advan...
Thick-film resistors get smaller and smaller
TT Electronics has announced the introduction of two additional resistor types that expand and enhance its high reliability CR and HR series. The latest versions of these thick-film chip resistors are in the smaller 0603 size and hence offer opportunities for use in compact circuits where guaranteed performance and footprint size are critical.
Super capacitors offer extremely low leakage current
The newly launched VINATech LIC product range offers a series of radial EDLC capacitors from 20 Farad to 270 Farads. This hybrid ultra-capacitor technology uses activated carbon with a lithium electrode to create a high density capacitor with extremely low self discharge characteristics.
Four terminal shunts for high sensing efficiency
The HCSK Series from Stackpole is a surface mount metal element high current shunt with four terminals. Four terminal Kelvin sense resistors provide accurate sensing as it removes the effect of lead resistance in the sensing function. The HCSK2725 rated at 5W at an ambient temperature of 100ºC utilises materials and a raised element which provides tolerances as low as 1% and TCR of 50ppm/ºC.
Choke coils meet demanding automotive applications
Now available in Europe through TTI are Panasonic’s power efficient LP-Series power choke coils and ZE-Series Conductive Polymer Hybrid Aluminum SMD technology capacitors featuring a high ripple current (up to 2.0A) and a low ESR value. Rugged LP series power choke coils offer inductance stability over a broad temperature range, have low power losses and a low audible (buzz) noise.
New case size and codes added to automotive-grade capacitors
A new ‘U’ case (EIA Metric 7361-43) has been added to AVX Corporation’s TRM Professional Series multianode, ultralow-ESR tantalum capacitors, extending the range with several new ratings designed to address the demands of an ever-expanding scope of high-reliability automotive, military, medical, aerospace, and industrial applications.
