Ultra-Flat Tact switch has profile of 1.5mm
The new TSS 17-1 series from knitter-switch features a very low profile of just 1.5mm and a body size of 5 x 5mm, making it suitable for applications where space is at a premium. These include portable consumer products such as MP3 players and remote controllers.
No Pb in Syfer's Radial Lead Capacitors
UK capacitor manufacturer Syfer Technology has announced that all of its standard ranges of radial lead capacitors are now available with tin terminations, in place of the traditional tin-lead terminations on the leads. All internal solder joints are also lead-free to meet the requirements of the new directive. For customers required to demonstrate compliance, Syfer’s part numbers have been modified and clearly labelled with an additional ‘...
Tiny Wire-Wound Chip Inductors for IC Input Power Circuits are said to be World's smallest
TAIYO YUDEN has announced that its LBMF1608 series wire-wound chip inductors are now being produced at the rate of 10 million units per month. As the first-ever device to achieve a 47µH inductance rating in 0603 case size (1.6 x 0.8 x 0.8mm), the LBMF1608 is 33% smaller by volume than equivalent-rated 0805 inductors typically used in the IC input power circuits of cell phones, PDAs, still/video cameras and other mobile digital equipment.
RoHS Compliant Low Profile Push Button TACT Switch
knitter-switch has announced the introduction of its TSS 309 push-button tact switch. This space-saving surface mounted switch measures 3.8 x 6.0mm and is just 1.7mm high. For secure mounting and good electrical contact, a single J-lead terminal is provided which ensures maximum solder on the joint and aids visual inspection. Where required, versions are also available with flat solder terminals.
DuplineSafe(TM) modules add safety-critical systems to fieldbus applications
New Carlo Gavazzi DuplineSafe(TM) bus transmitters and relays allow customers to leverage investment in the Dupline fieldbus system to monitor safety-critical emergency-stop switches. Major benefits of using the Dupline fieldbus for safety monitoring include reduced wiring while meeting international safety standards, and enhanced diagnostics to trace faults quickly and maximise uptime.
Phase-monitoring relay prevents motor burnout
Finder has introduced the 72.31 three-phase monitoring relay, which is used for detecting a loss of phase or incorrect phase rotation when using three-phase supplies. This compact relay is ideally suited for the protection of motors in plant and machinery, and helps to satisfy the mandatory requirement of ensuring the correct rotation of motors in transportable equipment.
Very small photo-IC output couplers
Toshiba Electronics Europe has expanded its TLP7xx family of photocouplers with three new devices that provide totem pole outputs. Supplied in SDIP packaging – making them 50% smaller than previous devices - the new photocouplers are suitable for a variety of applications including CAN bus interfaces, high speed data transfer, and intelligent power module signal isolation.
3.3V Optocoupler from Avago is Industry's Fastest
Avago Technologies has just introduced what is said to be the industry's fastest 3.3 V/5 V CMOS-compatible optocoupler, capable of transmitting data at 25 megabaud (MBd). This speed makes it ideal for high-speed, data-line transmission applications, such as those in industrial networking, including PROFIBUS and DeviceNet.
RoHS compliant right-angle Tact switch
knitter-switch announces a new right-angle tact switch series designed for a wide variety of applications where a reliable, low cost switch is required. The series TSSE 6xx-RA is washable to IP46 and features a lifetime of 500,000 cycles. It is RoHS compliant and leadfree solderable to 255ºC ±5ºC for a maximum of 10s.
Surge Arrestors Offer Ultra Low Capacitance for xDSL Applications
STMicroelectronics has introduced a range of surge arrestors designed to protect ADSL/VDSL modems and similar high bit-rate communications equipment on the CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) side.
