Available from specialist distributor Switchtec, Hongfa latching relays require just a short pulse of voltage to change state. As opposed to conventional relays that require a continuous supply of power to remain energised - therefore consuming far more energy - the Hongfa latching relays save energy compared to an equivalent relay, or in the case of the larger sizes, contactors.

TTI Europe has announced a low-value current sense surface mount chip resistor family, recently launched by TT Electronics Welwyn Components. Complementing the existing LR series, the new devices are available in three smaller sizes - 0805, 0603 and 0402 - whilst retaining the same thick-film on ceramic construction. This saves space on circuit boards, enabling miniaturisation and providing increased choice for product designers.
