Surge Suppression Devices Help Protect High Data Rate Telecom and Datacom Equipment
Tyco Electronics has announced the addition of new devices to its Raychem brand SiBar thyristor series. These new bi-directional transient voltage surge suppressors include an expanded range of available voltages, and lower capacitance to help protect high-speed ADSL/VDSL modems, Ethernet and Power-over-Ethernet and other high data rate communications equipment from damage from overvoltage events.
Design and Production Service Makes it Easy to Switch to Membrane Keypads
A new design and production service from Europe’s leading switch manufacturer, knitter-switch, makes it easy for users to adopt membrane technology for their switching and control applications. The key benefits of membrane technology include reliability, long contact life, easy mounting, custom graphics, custom connection and illumination, and the flexibility to choose materials that offer resistance to environmental conditions such as dust, mo...
Current monitor simplifies high voltage circuit protection
With its extended common-mode sensing voltage range of 3V to 60V, the ZXCT1080 current monitor from Zetex Semiconductors provides a simple solution for high side current sensing in a wide range of high voltage circuit protection duties in automotive, industrial motor control and power supply applications.
Bourns Power Inductors from TTI
TTI, Inc., has recently introduced Bourns SRP and SRU Power Inductors. SRP high current, low Direct Current Resistance (DCR) Power Inductors range in size from 7 to 13mm. The standard inductance range is from 0.1µH up to 10µH and can handle current as high as 50A and DCR well below 1mΩ - model dependent. An increased temperature range from -55degC to +155degC, resolves an area which has been an issue for some time.
Safe Emergency Stop Switches from IDEC available
Live Electronics has released two IDEC Emergency Stop Switches incorporating revolutionary safe-break action: XA (16mm diameter mounting) and XW (22mm diameter mounting) ranges, meeting international safety standards ISO13850 and EN60947-5-5. LED illuminated versions with replaceable 24V AC/DC LEDs are offered for XA in 29mm and 40mm mushroom head styles, and XW has 40mm and 60mm mushroom head options. Push-turn and push-pull reset actions are b...
Relay & Control Gear Products described in new booklet
Hawco continues to make product selection easier with the introduction of its new Quick Pick booklet for Relay & Control Gear products. Included are details of industrial and general purpose relays, PCB miniature power relays, safety and low signal relays, PCB and plug-in automotive relays and sockets from ISO-14001, QS-9000 and TS-16949 certified producer, Song Chuan - the world’s fourth largest relay manufacturer.
Top actuated tactile switch has really low profile
C+K Components’ KMT series tact switches are claimed to be industry’s smallest and lowest profile top actuated devices with an integrated actuator (push plate). KMT series switches are also said to feature a 50% longer operational life over comparable products.
Ferrite Chip Beads from NIC
The NCB series provides current ratings up to 6 amps in standard EIA case sizes from 0402 to 1812. The NCB-H series is rated for currents up to 5 amps in case sizes from 0603 to 1812. Both series provide high impedance over a wide frequency range and operate in temperatures from minus 40 to +125 degrees Centigrade. They are compatible with automated pick-and-place equipment and can be soldered with either flow or reflow techniques.
ESD and Overcurrent Reference Layout for HDMI 1.3 Interfaces Based on Passive Protection Devices
Tyco Electronics announced today the introduction of a reference layout for ESD and overcurrent protection for HDMI 1.3 interfaces. The reference layout utilizes Tyco Electronics’ low-capacitance (0.25pF signal to ground) PESD protection devices, and space-effective component placement and routing to help protect against ESD events and optimize board space. The reference layout also includes optional overcurrent protection on the +5V rail, usi...
Switch disconnectors are smaller and higher rated for space saving applications
Available from specialist distributor Switchtec, redesigned and upgraded switch disconnectors from Telergon offer higher current ratings in smaller housings. The move enables users to save space and/or use more conservatively rated switches in the same space as used previously.
