The new RZ4M combines the optical twin-scan sensors of the iC-RZ Series with the downstream interpolator iC-MR3 on a single evalboard.

Developers can now easily set up this high-resolution optical encoder solution in the lab and comfortably put this chip duo into operation. The code disc and LED module are included in the kit, so that a working encoder system is ready for testing in no time at all. Resolutions of up to 24 bits in the Control Channel and up to 15 bits in the Safety Channel meet the requirements of modern, safe motor feedback systems and absolute encoders up to SIL3 / PLe. Intuitive GUI software and the optional RZ1D motherboard for extended connectivity complete the application-oriented system development package.

Redundant position, safe data transmission

Functional safety and high control quality in motor feedback systems and absolute encoders - this is what optical twin-scan sensors from iC-Haus stand for. The iC-RZ Series provides two fully redundant position words with a resolution of up to 15 bits. An additional auxiliary track with 1024 or 2048 cycles per revolution generates a Sin/Cos signal that can be interpolated to further increase the resolution of the Control Channel. In combination with the downstream interpolator iC-MR3, position information with a resolution of up to 24 bits is provided for precise motor control. For safe data transmission, the encoder system can rely on the BiSS Safety profile certified by TÜV Rheinland.
