30 Watt LED-Driver with high Design Lifetime and PFC
Long-life LED-systems only make sense if the driver does not fail prematurely. Our RACD30 have a higher life expectancy than most power LEDs. Efficiency and power factor set new trends in this product class.
LEDsOur new RACD30-series exceeds this parameter by far. With a ”tested lifetime” of more than 70.000 hours it will continue to fully function long after the LED has reached its max. life expectancy. Contrary to the calculated MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), the “Design Lifetime” is a fully tested value that accurately depicts the actual life time of the driver. This value is determined in our environmental laboratory by so-called “HALT”-Testing (High Accelerated Lifetime Testing). The RACD30 is the ideal driver for long life LED-systems, due to its record high lifetime. The supplier warranty covers 5 years.
The RACD30-series supplies whole chains of 3 to 5 “High Brightness” LEDs and can be used in many indoors applications such as entrance hall lighting, shop windows, exhibition halls and many more. In order to be useable worldwide this product series features a universal input voltage range.
Mounting is simple with two mounting screws. A connector plug prevents LED-damage due to wrong wiring, particularly when LEDs are already pre-assembled. The compact AC/DC-drivers measure only 160 x 50 x 22.5mm (L x W x H) and can be fitted into any type of lighting system because of their slim construction.
Power Factor Correction avoids Harmonics
LED driver without PFC draw energy from the supply via individual pulses with high amplitude. This deviation from the ideal sinus wave form generates unwanted reactive currents and reflects harmonics back into the mains supply, thereby “contaminating” it. The worse the power factor of a driver is, the higher is the reactive current and the harmonics.
The RACD30-driver features an integrated PFC-circuit with a power factor >0.95 achieved via pulse-width modulation of individual half waves. This high value is considerably better than required by EN61000-3-2 or by “Energy Star”.
