Luminus expands photonics portfolio with green and blue lasers
Luminus Devices announces an expansion of its product line with the introduction of new green and blue lasers.
These lasers are designed for various applications such as entertainment lighting, laser projection displays, levelling and measurement, and biometric monitoring.
The new green laser features a typical peak wavelength of 515nm and an output power of 80mW (CW). It is designed for efficient operation in both pulsed and CW modes and utilises single-mode diode laser technology. Additionally, this laser boasts high-speed modulation capabilities and is packaged in a TO-56 casing with a photo diode.
Similarly, the blue laser has a typical peak wavelength of 455nm and an output power of 100mW (CW). It shares many of the green laser’s qualities, including efficient operation in pulsed and CW modes, single-mode diode laser technology, and high-speed modulation capabilities. This model is also housed in a TO-56 package with a photo diode.
Chun-Jui Lee, Luminus Laser Business Line Director, expressed the company's commitment: "The launch of our first laser portfolio signifies our commitment to expand our product span in optoelectronic solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. With these new green and blue laser products, we aim to serve a wide range of industries with distinctive performance and reliability."
These lasers are notable for their wall-plug efficiency, making them a valuable asset for any battery-powered system. Their introduction is poised to make laser light sources more accessible across various applications in consumer, medical, life-sciences, and industrial sectors. Looking ahead, Luminus has plans to further broaden its laser portfolio, with the introduction of additional wavelengths and advanced packaging solutions. This expansion aims to provide customers with a diverse range of LED and laser options tailored to their specific market and application requirements. Luminus is showcasing these new offerings at Photonics West 2024, booth #2750, where representatives are available to discuss their range of opto-solutions, including these latest laser innovations.
