High power fibre coupled laser modules
LASER COMPONENTS has announced that it now offers a comprehensive range of laser diodes and modules for a wide range of applications. The new 1,470 and 1,550nm high power fibre coupled modules are suited for Endovenous Laser Treatment (ELT). ELT is a minimally invasive technique for treating varicose veins using high power NIR laser light to ablate the vein along its entire length.
A fibre optic is used to guide high power NIR laser light into the affected vein and as this is withdrawn the laser light treats the entire vein. After treatment the body naturally absorbs the dead tissue, destroying the affected vein.
Available with powers ranging from two to 12W, these 1,470 and 1,550nm high power fibre coupled modules include a monitor photodiode, TEC, thermistor and visible aiming beam. They are available with fibre pigtail or detachable SMA905 connector.
