LASER COMPONENTS has announced its FLEXPOINT MV laser modules with integrated M12 or M18 thread for fast integration.

Our FLEXPOINT MV12 is the right choice for machine vision applications and other use cases requiring a homogeneous laser line. Its laser and Powell lens have a stainless-steel housing with M12 thread, allowing it to be easily integrated into existing setups, such as pre-drilled holes or by using the M12 mount FP-PS-M12.

Various wavelengths and optic options

The FLEXPOINT MV12 line laser module is available with wavelengths ranging from 405nm to 850nm and a wavelength stability of less than 0.25 nm/°C. You can adjust the line length to your application by choosing a fan angle between 5° and 90°. The module exists in three different optic options: improved depth of field (DOF), small line width and a balanced version offering a good compromise between DOF and line thickness. The laser line can also be designed with lower intensity in the centre to compensate the camera aperture’s field of view. The control wire can be used between 0 – 5V to manually adjust the output power or apply digital modulation signal to switch the laser on and off at 0-10 kHz. FLEXPOINT MV12 is the right choice e.g. for 3D triangulation in industrial environments, especially for industrial inspection or if your 3D laser scanner already provides an M12 thread.

M18 threaded housing option

If you prefer anodised aluminium housing (potential-free) instead of stainless steel, LASER COMPONENTS also offers the FLEXPOINT MV18, featuring an M18 threaded housing and an M12 electric connector. This module is available with a homogeneous line (line intensity variation ±20%) or field-of-vision (FOV) correction delivering higher intensity at the edges compared to the centre of the line. Wavelengths ranging from 405nm to 850nm are available, with output powers up to 100mW or higher on request. Its ruggedised housing is well-suited for delivering excellent optical properties even under harsh conditions and ensuring the right combination of DOF and line thickness.
