Autofocus USB3 camera based on SONY IMX298
e-con Systems has launched a 16MP autofocus USB 3.0 colour camera, See3CAM_160 based on the SONY IMX298 image sensor with an inbuilt Image Signal Processor (ISP). See3CAM_160 is a compact single-board camera solution that houses the e-CAM160_MI298_MOD camera module based on the 1/2.8" IMX298 CMOS image sensor from SONY, and can stream 1080p (FHD) @30fps and 4K@24fps.
High-power 1800K LED alternative to HPS lamps
NICHIA has announced its 219F series of high-power 1800K LEDs, positioned as an alternative to High Pressure Sodium lamps (HPS). Global efforts to phase-out the use of HPS continue to be met with a resistance to using white LED replacements. Due to this lack of a viable and sustainable alternative, HPS have remained exempt from the list of banned products under the Minamata Convention on Mercury, meaning HPS remains ubiquitous.
Muxponders enable 400G technology over single wavelength
To affordably increase the capacify of existing networks Salumanus is now offering to the UK market the PL-4000M & PL-4000T Muxponder/Transponder from PacketLight Networks, a solutions that delivers 400G capacity over a single wavelength using pluggable line optics. The new muxponders will help telco operators and service providers speed up the UK’s digitalisation plans, facilitating the transition from copper to fibre.
Integrated and flexible automotive LED driver launched
STMicroelectronics has launched the ALED6000, a single-chip automotive LED driver with integrated DC/DC converter is a low-BoM (Bill of Materials) solution that allows design flexibility and keeps the lighting intensity consistent as electrical conditions within the vehicle fluctuate.
VIVARES light management system with IoT
LEDVANCE has launched a new future-proof IoT light management system, making it easier than ever to produce the right lighting conditions for defined requirements. VIVARES offers superb simplicity with compatibility to two technologies: a wireless option via VIVARES Zigbee and a wired version using DALI-2 technology.
Partnership develop small LiDAR safety laser scanner
Maxim Integrated Products has announced that its software-configurable digital IO products helped enable a 50% size reduction for the microScan3 Core I/O LiDAR safety laser scanner from SICK AG, a leader in the design and manufacturing of industrial sensor-based solutions. Achieving this small design allows SICK to expand the versatility of the new nanoScan3 Safety Laser Scanner for machines and vehicles that require high performance but have min...
Automotive-compliant LED driver for rear lighting designs
Diodes Incorporated has expanded its portfolio of devices supporting automotive exterior illumination with the introduction of the AL5873Q three-channel linear LED driver targeted at simplifying rear lamp cluster designs.
Large diameter optical flats with surface accuracy
Optical Surfaces has reported on growing demand for larger (350 - 600mm clear aperture) diameters. Working with materials including ClearCeram, Fused Quartz and Zerodur in their thermally stable manufacturing environment - Optical Surfaces has routinely achieved a surface accuracy of up to lambda/20 peak-to-valley and surface roughness of 10 Å rms on reference flats up to 650mm in diameter.
Under-display time-of-flight turnkey solution
The latest phone designs focus on solutions that allow a full-screen display and avoid the notch, punch-hole cameras, or bezels without compromising on quality or performance. Infineon Technologies together with its Time-of-Flight (ToF) partner pmdtechnologies and ArcSoft are developing a turnkey solution that allows a ToF camera to work under the display of commercial smartphones.
LED solutions add intelligence to connected lighting
ON Semiconductor has announced two new devices designed to enhance the performance of connected lighting systems. The NCL31000 and NCL31001 LED drivers allow manufacturers to develop LED luminaires with light-based positioning technology and visible light communication. By adding data intelligence and accurate positioning (up to 30cm), these solutions will revolutionise lighting in a variety of spaces including supermarkets, warehouses, hospitals...
