Vishay Releases Analog Multiplexers and Switches With Ultra-Low Charge Injection Less Than 1.0pC and Low Switching Capacitance

Vishay Intertechnology has released eight new high-frequency, low-charge-injection analog multiplexers and switches for precision instrumentation applications. They are also the first devices of their kind to be offered in the leadless 1.8-mm by 2.6-mm miniQFN package, in addition to the standard TSSOP and SOIC packages.
The four new analog multiplexers and four new analog switches combine an ultra-low charge injection from 0.5pC to 1.0pC, low switch capacitance of 2pF and 3pF, leakage currents from 0.25nA to 5nA, and typical on-resistance from 66Ω to 72Ω.



Their specifications make them ideal for high-frequency analog switching, high-speed multiplexing, audio and video routing, filtering, gain and frequency selection, level shifting, and calibration. End products will include precision instrumentation, industrial controls, medical instrumentation, telecom and datacom equipment, automated test equipment (ATE), and high-speed communications systems.



The new multiplexer offering includes the 4-channel DG604, the dual 4-channel DG4052A, the 8-channel DG4051A, and the triple 2-channel DG4053A. The new analog switches are the quad SPST DG611A, DG612A, and DG613A, which offer improved charge injection, on-resistance, and standby current compared to the industry-standard DG611, while eliminating the need for a VL pin. The new DG636 can be used as a dual SPDT analog switch or dual 2:1 multiplexer.



All of the devices released today are designed to operate from a +2.7-V to +12-V single supply, or from ±2.5-V to ±5.0-V dual supplies. They are fully specified at +3V, +5V, and ±5V. All control logic inputs have guaranteed 2-V logic high limits when operating from +5-V or ±5-V supplies, and are low-voltage logic compatible when operating from a 3-V supply.



The multiplexers and switches conduct equally well in both directions and offer rail-to-rail analog signal handling. They feature an extended operating temperature from -40°C to +125°C, and are available in a variety of packages, including the 14- and 16-lead TSSOP, 16-pin narrow SOIC, and the space-saving miniQFN.
