ADCs feature pseudo differential & differential inputs
Targeting high performance multichannel applications such as I/Q demodulation, motor and power control, automated test equipment, data acquisition and medical instrumentation, Analog Devices has announced the AD7902 dual pseudo differential and AD7903 dual differential PulSAR ADCs.
The 16-bit, 1MSPS converters enable simultaneous or independent signal chain implementation, providing two sampling solutions in one package. With power consumption scaled depending on throughput speed, the ADCs consume just 12mW at 1MSPS. ADI has claimed that this is 70% less power than the closest competitor. Feature up to ±0.5LSB and 94dB SNR for exceptional accuracy and precision, this low power consumption enables the devices to address thermal dissipation challenges in dense data acquisition system designs.
Incorporating a versatile serial interface port and implemented as physically-isolated devices, both converters enable a robust signal chain design which considers functional safety. Physical isolation allows verification and backup measurements, enabling useful end-system fault detection.
The AD7902 and AD7903 ADCs are available now in a 20-lead QSOP for $15 each in 1,000 unit quantities.
