Ultra-low power 4-channel microphone A/D converter for voice applications
Cirrus Logic has announced the ultra-low power CS53L30 analog-to-digital converter. With ultra-low power consumption of less than 2.5 mW per channel, the CS53L30 high- performance, four-channel microphone A/D converters enhance voice processing features such as noise suppression, acoustic echo cancellation and multi-channel beamforming and offer improved performance in voice capture processing for voice control and recognition.
ST's Digital Audio SoC delivers 2x20W in 2.57mm x 3.24mm
STMicroelectronics has today announced the most power dense single-chip digital audio system available, the STA333IS. Delivering up to 2x20W of audio output power, the STA333IS has a tiny footprint measuring just 2.57mm x 3.24mm. Combining advanced process and chip-scale package technologies with digital audio IP such as ST’s proprietary FFX full flexible amplification, this new digital audio SoC extends ST’s SoundTerminal family.
Isolated USB Analog Output Modules for Continuous Waveform Streaming
Data Translation announces the release of enhanced performance versions for its DT9853 and DT9854 USB analog output modules. The new versions have four or eight outputs with 16-bit resolution and can now also provide continuous analog waveform streaming at up to 8 kHz.
X-FAB Optimizes 180nm Process for Portable Analog Applications
X-FAB Silicon Foundries today announced it has enhanced the XP018 process with multiple options to lower chip costs for high-performance analog applications such as audio, sensor interface and 5V-environment power management applications.
Nemicon’s line grows with ultra-small 7s series of 7mm incremental rotary encoders
Nemicon continues to push the envelope in high-performance miniaturization with its 7S Series Incremental Rotary Encoder. At just 7.2mm in diameter, and based on Nemicon’s successful line of 18mm and 12mm diameter miniature encoders, the 7S Series shaft type encoder features high resolution, high noise immunity and high reliability.
TI Announce 12-bit, 500- to 900-MSPS ADCs Saving 80% Board Space
Today at the IMS 2013, Texas Instruments introduce a family of 12-bit, 500- to 900-MSPS analog-to-digital converters that reduce board space by 80 percent while providing industry-leading signal-to-noise ratio and spurious-free dynamic range. The ADS5409 family provides best-in-class performance in a significantly smaller footprint and at the lowest power consumption.
Automating Analogue Front End Design
An artefact of the digital domain is that it invariably relies on an analogue interface. This inconvenient truth means the need for analogue design skills have yet to disappear completely, however the continued efforts of leading semiconductor providers are addressing this, as ES Design Magazine Editor Philip Ling explains.
TI introduces industry’s fastest 4-channel, 14-bit ADC at 250 MSPS
Texas Instruments today introduced the industry’s fastest 4-channel, 14-bit analog-to-digital converter, clocking in at 250 MSPS. The high-density ADS4449 enables receiver systems to support up to 125 MHz of instantaneous bandwidth in extremely small forms, such as multiple input and multiple output base stations and munitions guidance, or in greater density applications, such as active electrically scanned array and other phased-array rada...
