Mixed Signal/Analog
Digital-to-analogue data converter awarded certification from DLA
The latest 12-bit space grade Digital-to-Analogue data Converter (DAC) from e2v has been awarded QML class V certification from the US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). e2v’s EV12DS130B DAC device family has been awarded the globally recognised space qualification of QML class V by the US DLA, increasing e2v’s portfolio of QML qualified data converters.
AMS analysis product extends PADS PCB product creation platform
The latest additions to the PADS PCB Product Creation Platform have been announced by Mentor Graphics. New Analogue/Mixed-Signal (AMS) and high-speed analysis products address engineering challenges associated with mixed-signal design, DDR implementation, and electrically-correct design signoff.
Rad tolerant in amp integrates differential ADC driver
Intersil has announced what it claims to be the industry’s first radiation tolerant 36V in-amp (instrumentation amplifier) featuring an integrated differential ADC driver. The high performance ISL70617SEH differential input, rail-to-rail output in-amp delivers the industry’s highest signal processing performance for low-level sensor telemetry data critical to communication satellites.
DAC improves television viewing experience
Analog Devices has announced a DAC that brings the future of TV to today's home viewers, enabling them to enjoy UHD and 4K television across more channels at unprecedented streaming and download speeds.
Evaluation module demos high speed DAC performance
The new ADC32RF45 EVM evaluation module from Texas Instruments (TI) demonstrates the performance of a dual 3-GSPS 14-bit ADC32RF45 analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) with the JESD204B interface is available at Mouser Electronics. The ADC32RF45 EVM allows design engineers to design smaller, higher-performance radar, software-defined radio (SDR), test and measurement, aerospace and defense, wireless communications, and radio astronomy equipment.
SHARC processors enable superior sound quality
Expanding its growing series of single-chip multicore SHARC processors, Analog Devices has announced the ADSP-SC57x and ADSP-2157x processors. The devices advance the audio experience by enabling superior sound quality and more cost-effective and reliable audio systems. The platform meets automotive temperature ranges without the need for costly, bulky heat sinks or fans, which saves space in the end application.
Ultrasonic components in water treatment
Morgan Advanced Materials has applied its world-leading ultrasonic transducer technology to water purification, helping to deliver components which improve performance in wastewater applications. New processes using high-intensity ultrasound waves to break down bacterial biomass found in impurities in water, have become increasingly popular in recent times.
Industry’s most integrated resolver sensor interface
Texas Instruments has introduced the industry’s first resolver sensor interface with integrated power supply, exciter amplifier and functional safety features. The PGA411-Q1 is capable of simultaneously exciting the resolver sensor coil and calculating the angle and velocity of a rotating motor shaft without the external components required by competitive solutions.
Bi-directional digital isolators improve flexibility
Designers can save space and achieve more flexible designs with the latest two-channel, bi-directional digital isolators from Maxim Integrated Products. The MAX14933 and MAX14937 transfer digital signals between circuits in both directions and provide complete galvanic isolation between two power domains, all while using fewer components to save board space.
TI leads analogue IC suppliers with 18% marketshare
The 2015 analogue market grew 2% to $47.0bn. Combined sales of general-purpose analogue products (amplifiers/comparators, interface, power management and signal conversion devices) increased 2% to $19.1bn and sales of application-specific analogue devices also improved 2% to $27.9bn. Among analogue IC products, the market for signal conversion devices showed the largest increase in 2015, growing 14% to $2.9bn.
