Mixed Signal/Analog
Analogue process suited for low noise sensing applications
The availability of ams' High Performance Analogue Low Noise CMOS process (A30) has been announced. The A30 process is realised as an optical shrink by a factor of 0.9 from ams’ advanced 0.35μm High-Voltage CMOS process family.
Digitisers enable capture and analysis of electronic signals
The line of PXIe-based (PXI Express) high-speed digitisers from Spectrum has expanded with nine cards. The M4x.22xx series includes modules that offer one, two or four fully synchronous channels. Each channel is equipped with its own Analogue-to-Digital Converter (ADC), with real-time signal sampling at rates from 1.25-5GS/s.
Asynchronous state machine offered in GreenPAKs
Three new 14-pin and three new 22-pin 2.0x2.2mm GreenPAK Programmable Mixed-signal Matrix ICs have been announced to further expand Silego’s platform of Configurable Mixed-signal ICs (CMICs). The six feature-rich CMIC devices are designed to implement many system functions, such as system reset, power sequencing, voltage monitoring, and more, with minimal space and power overhead.
Flexibility offered in programmable mixed-signal IC architecture
Further expanding the GreenPAK (GPAK) family of Programmable Mixed-signal ICs, Silego Technology has announced the SLG46125. This newest GPAK can serve as an ultra-small power management IC which contains a rich set of features, including voltage monitoring, power sequencing, reset and power switches that are configurable in settings and interconnect.
Heading back to the Future with DAB+/FM radio
The newest BMR from Tectonic Elements’ has been selected to provide the loudspeaker solution for the Touring/S portable DAB+/FM radio and Bluetooth speaker by Geneva Labs. The 52mm TEBM35C10-4 features a small form-factor combined with room filling sound that is suitable for this elegant retro-design product.
K-band DAC achieves signal generation up to 26.5GHz
A 6GSps Digital-to-Analogue Converter (DAC) has been announced by e2v. The EV12DS460 can achieve clean signal generation up to 26.5GHz. The EV12DS460 from e2v performs signal generation directly in the K-band frequency (18-27GHz), removing the need for signal up-conversion and the costly mixers that perform this task.
Multiturn encoder for Linear and Rotary applications
iC-PVL, a configurable Hall multiturn encoder, is a battery-buffered, economical, and space saving replacement for mechanically geared multiturn encoders. Its low current consumption (<10μA) allows the battery to last several years. A flat QFN package is used, which is only 4x4 mm², and includes integrated Hall sensors. This allows the iC-PVL to read magnetic linear scales or tapes, or discs or magnet wheels with pole widths of 1.0 to ...
Family of high-speed, ultra-low power transmitters
A family of high-speed RS-485/RS-422 transmitters have been introduced by Exar Corporation, that combine low power, high performance, small packaging and high ±15kV ESD protection. This family is best suited for industrial applications such as multi-drop clock distribution, telecom networking, robotic control, process automation and local area network applications.
Analogue phase shifter modules feature monotonic range up to 800°
A series of analogue phase shifters have been released by Pasternack. They are used to control the phase characteristics in the processing of microwave signals, and can also be used as phase modulators to control a modulating baseband signal.
Low power USB 2.0 hubs allow self-powered operation
A family of USB 2.0 hubs that consume the least amount of power and require the smallest real-estate footprint in the industry have been announced by Exar Corporation. The XR22404 and XR22417 are designed for applications where power consumption and board space are a concern such as docking stations, point-of-sale terminals, USB port expansion, test instrumentation, factory automation and other industrial applications.
