Mixed Signal/Analog
LXI-digitisers get extra I/O lines for mixed-mode testing
Spectrum Instrumentation has extended the capabilities of its popular LXI-digitisers by adding a powerful mixed-mode testing option. This new option is available on four different models, all featuring 8 analogue input channels that synchronously sample signals at rates up to 5 MS/s, 20 MS/s, 40 MS/s or 125 MS/s with 16-bit resolution.
Automotive medium-voltage transistors cover 12-32V
X-FAB Silicon Foundries SE, the leading analogue/mixed-signal and specialty foundry, has announced the availability of new medium-voltage transistors – complementing the company’s leading 180nm BCD-on-SOI technology platform (XT018). The new medium voltage devices cover voltages from 12 to 32V. With that customers now have access to a complete portfolio of different voltage options – covering a ten to 200V voltage range.
Quad-channel audio analogue-to-digital converter with 120-dB SNR
The TLV320ADC5140 is a Burr-Brown high-performance, audio analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) that supports simultaneous sampling of up to four analogue channels or eight digital channels for the pulse density modulation (PDM) microphone input. The device supports line and microphone inputs, and allows for both single-ended and differential input configurations.
16-bit ADC boasts 4MSPS throughput rate
The AD7386 successive-approximation register (SAR) analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices is in stock at Mouser Electronics. Single-ended and function-compatible with AD7380 and AD7381 ADCs, the 16-bit AD7386 features a throughput rate of 4 megasamples per second (MSPS) and a tiny 3 × 3mm LFCSP package.
Technology enhances scalability for driving the automotive future
Dialog Semiconductor has recently announced its Configurable Mixed-Signal IC (CMIC) for the automotive industry, the SLG46620-A. In today’s advanced automotive market, manufacturers are required to implement the latest safety, comfort and self-driving features which demand an ever-growing number of Integrated Circuits (ICs). Current solutions aimed at supporting these functions are limited by discrete implementations and standard ...
Audio amplifiers use multilevel switching technology
A range of audio amplifier solutions which use pioneering multilevel switching technology to increase audio performance and reduce power loss during operation are available at Farnell. Infineon’s MERUS range of Class D audio amplifier solutions deliver extreme reliability and stability for the entire product lifetime.
In-line strain gauge analogue amplifier to streamline calibration
A new in-line strain gauge amplifier from Mantracourt Electronics is set to streamline the calibration of a sensor thanks to its digital potentiometers and extremely simple and intuitive toolkit. Designed to convert strain gauge or load cell inputs into a 4-20 mA output, it provides more filtering than the existing embedded strain gauge amplifier range (ICA), and due to its small design, it can be easily integrated into compact installations.
So, what are S-parameters anyway?
Modern high-speed analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs) have enabled the direct sampling of radio frequency (RF) signals, which in many cases eliminates the need for mixing stages while increasing system flexibility and capability. Traditionally, ADC signal and clock inputs have been represented by lumped element models.
Precise atomic clock receives a performance upgrade
Microchip has announced, via its Microsemi subsidiary, the MHM-2020 hydrogen maser atomic clock that improves typical long term stability performance by nearly ten times over the previous generation MHM-2010. Building on the MHM-2010’s long service life and cost of ownership legacy, the MHM-2020 offers an upgraded user experience with a colour touch panel display and secure network management port.
Highly sensitive SPAD devices based on modular process technology
X-FAB Silicon Foundries continues to develop semiconductor solutions to address the most difficult of design challenges. It has now announced the availability of Avalanche Photodiode (APD) and Single-Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) products for implementation in scenarios where there are extremely low light conditions to contend with and augmented sensitivity is required, as well as tight timing resolutions involved.
