Twenty-nine Stellaris MCUs from TI claim unparalleled memory, connectivity and package options
Providing developers with greater flexibility to meet embedded design requirements, Texas Instruments has announced the expansion and reduced pricing of its Stellaris ARM Cortex-M3-based microcontroller (MCU) family. Twenty-nine new Stellaris MCUs include unique IP for motion control applications, intelligent analog functionality and expanded advanced connectivity options to provide a broad range of price/performance solutions for industrial applications. The portfolio also offers extended memory range pin-compatibility, along with new compact packages for space and cost savings.

o LM3S1000 series: Eight new MCUs with high pin count, general purpose real-time processing
o LM3S3000 series: Five new MCUs with USB device, USB Host/Device and USB On-the-Go (OTG) support
o LM3S5000 series: 14 new MCUs with USB device, USB Host/Device and USB OTG support, along with Bosch 2.0 A/B CAN support
o LM3S9000 series: Two new MCUs with 10/100 Ethernet MAC+PHY, USB OTG and Bosch 2.0 A/B CAN
* StellarisWare software in ROM to conserve flash, save time and ease development
* Up to 80 MHz clock speeds
* Optimized memory performance with single cycle flash and SRAM access up to 50 MHz
* Motion control options including QEI, PWMs and direct motion control FAULT signals
* New compact 48-lead QFN package in LM3Sxxx series for small form-factor embedded applications
