Top 5 micro products in November
Electronic Specifier takes a look at the top 5 micro products to have been released in November 2024.
Applications processors deliver secure connectivity
NXP Semiconductors has released the i.MX 94 family, the newest addition to its i.MX 9 series of applications processors, designed for industrial control, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), telematics, industrial and automotive gateways, and building and energy control.
Secure, real-time communication is essential for both industrial and automotive applications. Increasingly complex industrial environments rely on a wide variety of communications protocols, requiring an intelligent TSN switch to manage real-time communication and control needs. (Read more.)
New TI MCUs enable Edge AI
Texas Instruments (TI) introduced two new series of real-time microcontrollers that deliver advancements to help engineers achieve more intelligent and secure processing in automotive and industrial applications.
TI’s TMS320F28P55x series of C2000 MCUs is the industry's first portfolio of real-time microcontrollers with an integrated neural processing unit (NPU), enabling fault detections with high accuracy and low latency. The F29H85x series is built on TI’s new 64-bit C29 digital signal processor core and offers an advanced architecture with integrated safety and security features. TI will display both devices at electronica 2024, Nov. 12-15, in Munich, Germany. (Read more.)
Alif now sampling BLE and Matter wireless microcontroller
Alif Semiconductor has released an evaluation board for its Balletto product. First launched at embedded world 2024, this solution is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) wireless microcontroller featuring hardware optimisation for AI/ML workloads.
The Balletto MCU gives manufacturers the opportunity to implement sophisticated AI/ML functions such as natural language speech recognition, AI noise cancellation, key word spotting, and audio beam forming in true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds, and sensor fusion ML models in wearable devices and other types of space-constrained devices.
