Microchip Introduces 128-Kbit, 512-Kbit and the Industry’s Fastest 1-Mbit SPI Serial EEPROM
Microchip introduces the 25AA1024 and 25LC1024 - the fastest 1 Megabit serial EEPROM devices in the industry – along with the 25AA128, 25LC128, 25AA512 and 25LC512 128 Kbit and 512 Kbit devices. Microchip now provides SPI serial EEPROMs across a wide memory-density range (1 Kbit – 1 Mbit). All of the new devices are specified to operate over an extended temperature range (up to 125°C), and provide the performance for which Microchip’s serial EEPROM devices are known, including over 1 million erase/write cycles and 200-year data retention.
WithThe 25XX512 and 25XX1024 are the industry’s only 512 Kbit and 1 Mbit SPI serial EEPROMs specified to operate up to 125°C. These two devices also feature a “deep power-down mode”, which further reduces standby currents when the EEPROM device is not in use. For applications that require Flash-like operation, the 25XX1024 and 25XX512 devices offer sector erase, chip erase and read identification (ID) with four sectors per chip. The devices’ ability to respond to both serial EEPROM and Flash commands makes them the most flexible devices in their class.
Microchip’s SEEVAL® 32 Serial EEPROM Designer’s Kit (Part number DV243002) enables quick and easy development of robust, reliable serial EEPROM-based applications, and includes support for the new 25XX128, 25XX512 and 25XX1024 devices. The kit is available today at www.microchipdirect.com and includes the SEEVAL 32 Development Board and interface software, Microchip’s Total Endurance™ lifetime modelling and analysis software, a serial cable, power supply, sample pack and documentation.
The 25XX128 is available in 8-pin PDIP, TSSOP, SOIC, SOIJ, 5 mm x 6 mm DFN and Rotated SOIC packages, the 25XX512 is available in 8-pin PDIP, SOIC, SOIJ and 5 mm x 6 mm DFN packages and the 25XX1024 is offered in 8-pin PDIP, SOIJ and 5 mm x 6 mm DFN packages.
