Toshiba Announces New USB Flash Drives, Availability of Class 4 16GByte microSDHC cards and Class 10 Certification for SDHC products

Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) has further expanded its range of memory products with the launch of a new family of high-quality USB Flash drives and the commercial availability of 16GByte, Class 4-compliant microSDHC cards. The company has also announced that its high-speed professional range of SD cards is now certified in accordance with the new Class 10 SD Association standard.
Designed for ease of use, the latest Toshiba USB Flash drives feature a stylish and compact redesigned case incorporating an innovative slide mechanism that allows for single-handed opening. Available storage capacities are 4GBytes, 8GBytes, 16GBytes, 32GBytes and 64GBytes. Read and write speeds are up to 17Mbytes per second and up to 3.9Mbytes per second respectively. All of the new USB drives are supplied with a five-year warranty and are fully compatible with the Microsoft Windows® 7 operating system.

The latest addition to Toshiba’s range of high capacity microSDHC products is a high quality 16GByte card providing respective read and write speeds up to 20Mbytes per second and 10Mbytes per second. This card is fully compliant with the SD Association’s Class 4 specification, which guarantees a minimum transfer speed of 4Mbytes per second. To enhance data portability the 16GByte microSDHC card is supplied with its own SD adaptor.

In addition, Toshiba has also announced that all of the cards in its high-speed professional SD range are compliant with the new SD Association Class 10 specification. This replaces the previous Class 6 specification and guarantees transfer speeds of 10Mbytes per second meeting the needs of video recording and other professional applications.

Toshiba’s latest memory products are supplied in environmentally friendly paperboard packaging. This packaging reduces plastic content by up to 60% when compared with conventional blister packs. In addition, the paperboard-based packages are also slimmer and lighter than the more traditional pack helping to deliver efficiency and cost savings in terms of storage and shipping.
