SEGGER has announced the integration of Microsoft exFAT support into its emFile system, a fail-safe file system designed for embedded applications. With this enhancement, emFile is now capable of supporting volumes formatted with either FAT or exFAT, allowing it to efficiently handle files of virtually any size. emFile’s design is tailored for embedded systems, offering optimized memory usage in both RAM and ROM, high-speed performance, and flexibility across various applications.

Commenting on the partnership, Rolf Segger, founder of SEGGER, said, "We’re excited to collaborate with Microsoft to make it easier for our customers to use exFAT in their embedded devices. SEGGER offers a complete package, including the necessary licensing, making the process seamless for developers. exFAT is widely used for large media formats, and combining it with emFile brings its full potential to embedded environments."

Rob Kowal, Director of Licensing at Microsoft, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are pleased to have SEGGER on board as a trusted provider of embedded software solutions. Their implementation of exFAT, combined with licensing and support, allows customers to integrate high-quality file system solutions effortlessly.”

This collaboration simplifies the use of exFAT in embedded systems, positioning SEGGER as a comprehensive provider for developers seeking robust file management solutions.
