Single board computer VX3106 for embedded systems in transportation
Kontron has announced the VX3106. The 3U VPX SBC features an a 64-bit ARM Cortex-v8 A72 based processor with speeds up to 1.8GHz, main memory up to 16GB DDR4 and up to 64GB of eMMC. Its soldered memory, 1Gb FRAM technology for memory retention over power loss, low power consumption and tolerance of temperature ranges from -20 to 65°C makes it well suited for applications in the transportation, avionics, and defence industries.
Global distribution pact covers SSD, memory solutions
A global distribution deal has been agreed by Mouser Electronics and Virtium, a supplier of solid-state drive (SSD) and memory solutions in the industrial embedded market. The Virtium portfolio includes the StorFly and TuffDrive SSDs, memory modules and other industrial embedded solutions.

NAND flash chosen for the NASA BioSentinel CubeSat spacecraft
The Rad Hard high density NAND flash memory, from Data Device Corporation (DDC), has been selected to be integrated within the Pearl Single Board Computer (SBC), that is used as the flight computer on NASA’s BioSentinel CubeSat spacecraft. Flash memory production expanded in Berlin
Construction has begun on Swissbit’s new R&D and manufacturing facility. All of the company’s flash memory products are exclusively produced in Germany. A symbolic groundbreaking ceremony on 31st July 2018 initiated the planned tripling of the production capacity at the CleanTech Business Park location in Berlin-Marzahn, Germany.
