Gateway starter kit jump-starts IoT projects

The kit, which is available at distributor Digi-Key, offers out-of-the-box IoT connectivity, allowing swift and simple setup for evaluation and prototyping of cellular IoT applications leveraging 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, and LPWAN networks including LTE Cat. M1, Cat. NB1, and Cat. NB2.

The starter kit allows users to quickly develop proof-of-concept applications and test prototypes in both laboratory and real-world environments.

In addition to providing cellular capabilities, the kit provides various control functions using standard AT command interfaces.

External peripherals like sensors, actuators, or additional interfaces to external applications are easily connected via 8- and 12-pin headers.

Thales' gateway starter kit is supported by Taoglas’s terminal mount monopole antenna, providing a fast and reliable connection for 5G/4G/3G and 2G networks. The antenna is backward-compatible for agile and seamless integration with any Cinterion IoT gateway.

A 90° hinged SMA connector provides a fully omnidirectional antenna that can be rotated into any preferred orientation, which helps to avoid other antennas or objects.

This also helps with isolation by pointing the antenna in different directions when used in multiple-in multiple-out (MIMO) systems or when other antennas are present on the same device.

Together, the IoT gateway and antenna achieve strong signal, high efficiency, and peak gain for best-in-class throughput on all major cellular bands worldwide.
