Comau has showcased two new digital enablers at 34.BI-MU, Italy’s exhibition for metalworking, machine tools, robots, automation systems, digitalisation and more.

Underscoring the company’s commitment to innovation in the field of industrial automation and robotics, visitors will have the opportunity to see how Comau’s in.Grid digital platform and New Generation Robot Teach Pendant (TPX), with its full touchscreen functionality, can transform manufacturing processes, providing improved productivity, better quality and reduced overall costs.

By embedding advanced digital intelligence into the in.Grid IoT platform, Comau enables companies to harness the full potential of real-time data monitoring across both Comau and third-party equipment. This real-time line monitoring, tracking, and tracing of processes significantly enhances efficiency and sustainability. The platform’s capabilities also help reduce downtime and improve overall quality.

Comau’s new TPX Robot Teach Pendant, on the other hand, transforms how users program, operate, and monitor robots. Equipped with a large touchscreen display, an advanced human-machine interface (HMI) that leverages intelligent programming paradigms, and 360° control functionalities, TPX lets customers seamlessly monitor and coordinate one or more robots with ease. In addition, its integrated 3D simulation capabilities enable users to visualise and adjust robot paths in real time, significantly reducing setup times and enhancing overall system efficiency. TPX also simplifies complex programming tasks, offering a more intuitive user experience and helping optimise operations in even the most difficult production environments.

“Our commitment to digital innovation is a key pillar in making industrial automation increasingly intuitive and easy-to-use,” said Nicole Clement, Chief Business Unit Leader for Advanced Automation Solutions. “This vision includes simplifying robot learning, programming and monitoring to the degree that non-expert users can easily manage complex tasks. It also includes creating a seamless flow of information across the entire factory regardless of whose equipment is installed. In doing so, Comau aims to increasingly optimise processes and performances while helping our customers lower overall costs.”
