Authorised test lab for IoT cyber security certification program
SGS has received approval from CTIA to provide laboratory testing services for its new IoT Cybersecurity Certification Program. According to the company, this recognition makes it one of the first accredited testing laboratories in the world to offer this new service.
SGS’s Authorised Test Laboratory will assist stakeholders in determining whether their cellular-connected Internet of Things (IoT) devices meet the requirements and standards detailed under the new CTIA IoT Cybersecurity Certification test plan.
SGS worked with the wireless industry and CTIA, through its Cybersecurity Working Group, to develop the new testing program and is pleased to be named as one of the first approved testing labs.
“As an independent third party, we are proud to help raise the bar on cybersecurity by ensuring IoT devices adhere to the CTIA test plan,” said Parthiv Parikh, Global Business Development Manager.
The CTIA IoT Cybersecurity Certification Program sets an industry baseline for IoT security. It provides operators with the flexibility to add extra operator-specific requirements and is suitable for IoT device manufacturers seeking certification that reflects the complexity and sophistication of their device, as well as the security characteristics desired or needed for its use.
