Trams & buses operate without overhead electric wiring
An RFID system, which allows electric trams or buses to operate without overhead electric wiring in areas such as historic towns, has been developed by HARTING.
The Ha-VIS RFID system enables a vehicle to detect the location of a charging station in advance or to determine which operating mode it is permitted to drive in. The system, which has a positioning accuracy of more than 50cm, can be mounted on a platform, on a track or at a stop.
