Taoglas introduces AntJack: the industry’s first Wi-Fi antenna integrated into an RJ45 jack

Revolutionising space efficiency and wireless performance

By integrating the antenna with the RJ45 jack, the AntJack eliminates the need for PCB-mounted antennas, freeing up critical PCB real estate. The RJ45 jack also serves as the antenna’s ground plane, further improving wireless performance. This design makes the FXM100 an omnidirectional dipole antenna that supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6/6E, and Wi-Fi 7, making it an ideal solution for industrial robotics and test and measurement systems.

Optimising MIMO design for space-constrained applications

The AntJack shines in complex MIMO (Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output) designs, where space is often limited and the placement of antennas is crucial for optimal performance. In configurations such as 4x4 or 8x8 MIMO, where multiple antennas are needed, positioning becomes challenging, particularly in proximity to metal, which can cause interference and signal distortion. The FXM100 helps solve these challenges by offering a flexible, space-saving design.

The FXM100 antenna is available for purchase through Taoglas and its distribution partners. While it can be used as a standalone Wi-Fi antenna, it’s also available with Taoglas’ magnetic connectors and premium Ethernet cables, helping optimise BOM (Bill of Materials) costs. The antenna can also be adapted to fit various RJ45 connector sizes, such as 1x2, 2x2, or other MxN configurations.
