Anritsu will participate in the upcoming European Microwave Exhibition from 24 to 26 September.

The company will showcase its state-of-the-art Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) solutions and its advanced Rubidium RF/Microwave Signal Generator, among a variety of other innovations designed to meet diverse application requirements with exceptional performance and adaptability.

Drawing on 130 years of design expertise, Anritsu continues to push the boundaries of broadband VNA technology with its VectorStar ME7838x series, which surpasses the mmWave threshold. This allows RF and microwave engineers to assess a range of devices, from transistors in on-wafer settings to communication systems. The VectorStar VNA is highly adaptable, with a 70 GHz mainframe tailored to various testing challenges, including opto-electronic testing for silicon photonics (SiPh) devices and broadband/mmWave configurations.

Assessing material properties is crucial for applications such as wireless propagation, antenna design, remote sensing, electromagnetic interference mitigation, and medical diagnostics. Anritsu’s unique VNA-based solution, featuring Non-Linear-Transmission-Line VNA-on-chip technology, is designed to meet these needs.

The MS46131A 1-port ShockLine VNA, which operates up to 43.5 GHz, integrates easily with material test fixtures, addressing material testing challenges in laboratory, manufacturing, and field environments. It measures permittivity, conductivity, and loss tangents in various states of matter.

The ShockLine ME786xA system is the first distributed, fully reversing 2-port VNA solution, guaranteeing performance from 1 MHz to 43.5 GHz using Anritsu’s Extended-K components. Through PhaseLync™ technology, option 12 combines two ShockLine MS46131As into a fully reversing 2-port VNA, allowing the VNA ports to be placed up to 100 metres apart.

Ideal for antenna near- and far-field characterisation, shielding, and long cable or waveguide runs, this solution simplifies long-distance S-parameter measurements and VNA test system integration by eliminating the need for conventional benchtop VNAs with extended cable runs and maintaining the calibration reference plane as close as possible to the Device Under Test (DUT).

As 5G networks evolve and the transition to 6G approaches, field testing must prioritise performance and energy efficiency. Anritsu’s VNA, in collaboration with TMYTEK’s XRIfle Dynamic Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS), enhances field testing by intelligently managing signal paths, reducing power consumption, and providing precise measurements for optimal network performance.

TMYTEK’s XRifle Dynamic RIS reduces interference and improves signal quality, while Anritsu’s patented PhaseLync approach (ME786xA) enables detailed radio path characterisation with absolute phase measurements, supporting more robust network operations. This solution also enhances security by creating protected communication zones, which is critical for sensitive sectors.

At the stand, Anritsu will also display its solutions for signal generation and analysis. The Rubidium MG362x1A Analogue Signal Generator, designed for R&D, manufacturing, and depot repair, delivers superior signal purity, high output power, and frequency stability from 9 kHz to 70 GHz. High power and signal purity are vital for non-linearity testing, overcoming ATE system losses, and improving OTA or receiver blocking tests.

The new Pulse Train Option 025 allows for the generation of precise and extended pulse sequences with highly flexible trigger mechanisms, making it ideal for Radar Warning Receiver testing. Moreover, low phase noise and signal purity are essential for enhancing radar accuracy and effective electronic warfare countermeasures.

Anritsu will also unveil its next-generation high-performance Site Master, the MS2085A and MS2089A, which combines a Cable & Antenna Analyser with a Spectrum Analyser/Real-Time Spectrum Analyser in one portable unit.

The MS2085A Cable & Antenna Analyser measures from 5 kHz to 4 GHz/6 GHz, offering Return Loss, Cable Loss, VSWR, Distance to Fault, Transmission measurement, and Time Domain Reflectometry, with a dynamic range of 105 dB. The MS2089A Cable and Antenna Analyser, paired with a Spectrum Analyser, provides advanced monitoring with a fast spectrum analyser (sweeping 45 GHz/s, DANL of -167 dBm/Hz) and an optional Real-Time Spectrum Analyser with 40 MHz IQ bandwidth for detecting RF transients and demodulating LTE/5G carriers.
