KaiSemi’s Zero NRE FPGA-to-ASIC Replacement Debuts in Australia and New Zealand
KaiSemi Ltd., a fabless semiconductor vendor, and Apex Electronics, a New-Zealand based electronics components distributor, announced that they will launch KaiSemi’s “Zero NRE” automated FPGA-to-ASIC replacement solution in Australia and New Zealand on September 14th, 2011.

Apex, which represents KaiSemi in Australia and New Zealand, will showcase KaiSemi’s solution at the Electronex exhibition that will take place in Melbourne, Australia, on September 14th and 15th, 2011.
KaiSemi’s solution automatically converts any FPGA netlist directly to ASIC netlist with the push of a button using its IP synthesis tool. Based on its unique tool, KaiSemi provides reduced cost ASIC chips, acting as a second-source to any existing FPGA chip, while ensuring identical design functionality dedicated per customer. KaiSemi's automated conversion and flow eliminates the need for customer involvement and resources, NRE costs, long lead times, and the risks that are part of traditional FPGA-to-ASIC conversion flows. KaiSemi's automated conversion is combined with complete in-house ASIC flow, fab manufacturing and handling of customer orders and shipments.
“Month by month, we see the global market’s interest in effective FPGA-to-ASIC solutions”, said Tomer Kabakov, VP Sales and Marketing at KaiSemi. “Our penetration into the important territories of Australia and New Zealand is a natural development, which we expect to bear fruit in the next few quarters”.
