Secure data transmission with rugged switches from Belden
Amplicon, the UK distributor for Belden products has introduced the OCTOPUS family, a range of industrial IP67/65/54 Ethernet switches capable of offering maximum network reliability and long term availability under extreme conditions.
The Belden OCTOPUS family of industrial Ethernet switches has been specially designed for use in the field and ensures the highest industrial protection ratings (IP67/IP65/IP54) for mechanical stress, humidity, dirt, dust, shock and vibration. In addition they are capable of withstanding extreme heat and cold, whilst meeting the strictest fire prevention requirements.
The OCTOPUS switches have application-specific standards and certifications for use in the transport industry, including trains, road vehicles and ships; with its rugged features they also offer an optimum performance in general manufacturing, machine building and automotive applications.
The OCTOPUS switches come with 5 to 24 Fast Ethernet ports. Gigabit versions are also available which, just like the Fast Ethernet models feature vibration-resistant M12 connectors for twisted pair cables or fibre-optic ports according to IEC 63076-3-106 v1/v4.
Network engineers can choose between easy-to-install unmanaged models or more powerful managed variants, providing management, diagnostic and filtering features, as well as redundancy methods and security mechanisms.
The OCTOPUS 8TX-EEC switches come ready-to-use straight out the box and can be quickly installed in harsh environments without being housed in a protective cabinet. These compact units are ideal for industrial applications that require reliable and secure data transmission in areas where space is at a premium.
With over 100 different IP67/65/54 versions, PoE/PoE Plus functions, and its extensive configurable variants, the OCTOPUS family guarantees maximum flexibility and a cost effective data communication solution even in the harshest environmental conditions.
