Zytronic to present at UK conference on display component procurement and specification
Zytronic, the developer and manufacturer of PCT-based touch sensor products, is set to take part in the conference ‘Specifying the Right Display for Your Application’, organised by the Photonics & Plastic Electronics Knowledge Transfer Network. The event takes place on Wednesday 28th April 2010 at the Kents Hill Park Training & Conference Centre, Milton Keynes.
AimeAttendees will also be able to find out more about Zytronic’s future product developments. Zytronic’s PCT touch sensors comprise a matrix of conductive 10-micron diameter copper capacitors embedded into a tough laminated panel that can be placed behind or between protective overlays, such as glass or polycarbonate. This ensures that the active component is well-protected from scratches, dust, harmful chemicals, extremes of temperature, liquid ingress, and any accidental or deliberate damage. This in turn means that PCT touch sensors deliver much longer operational lifespans than conventional front-facing touchscreens based on resistive and capacitive technologies. Furthermore, in contrast to surface acoustic wave (SAW) and infrared (IR) touch sensing systems, PCT provides engineers with the flexibility to realise attractive, pure glass-fronted designs, which meet modern day expectations in terms of aesthetics, and are not spoilt by cumbersome bezels.
