Displays
The Future is Bright
Messagemaker has announced the addition of new products to its existing range of LED displays, introducing added flexibility and enhanced performance. Customers can now also benefit from the introduction of new cooling features and IP Rated options.
As wOver the past few years, Messagemaker’s ability to deliver consistently has seen its business with production and OEM integrators steadily increase, as Messagemaker MD Harry Filer explains:
“Flexibility and choice have been key factors in our success. As specialist suppliers with a broad customer base, we can meet almost any customer requirement, from long and thin to very large displays up to two metres plus, whilst still ensuring value for money. Equally important to our customers is the reliability and continuity of supply, as well as confidence in how the product will work in use”.
For OEM’s in particular, ease of use is also a primary consideration. All Messagemaker LED display solutions can be programmed very easily using a simple ASCII interface or software. They offer the potential for full network connectivity. A choice of other interfaces is available to include the industry standard LonWorks.
Adds Filer:
“People who are looking to integrate our displays within their own products don’t have time to add expertise in LEDs to their existing engineering and design skills. We try to make it easy for our customers by providing a complete package to include all necessary software and a developer’s kit. The back-up of free technical advice from Messagemaker to assist with installation ensures a trouble-free experience”
LEDs – the display technology of choice?
Once second choice to other technologies, LEDs are now regaining their popularity as a reliable and long-lasting display solution.
Offering up to twenty times the brightness of other screen technologies such as LCD, LEDs emit pure light, giving up to 11 years of continuous use. This durability makes LEDs an extremely cost-effective solution when looked at as a whole life proposition.
With no moving parts, LED displays are also virtually maintenance free, simplifying future service requirements. For system and product designers, the slim, lightweight design of the LED arrays and casings makes them extremely versatile, both for ease of integration and improved aesthetics.
Historically available only in red, Messagemaker LED displays now come in a range of additional shades including orange, yellow, white, blue and green or full colour. Full colour format enables colours to be matched precisely to the application or promotional purpose.
The low voltage of LEDs (a standard scrolling message using less than 10 watts per metre) offers a highly powerful, energy efficient solution that can help boost the environmental profile of products or applications using these displays and ensure compliance with ever more demanding energy standards.
Filer concludes, “As specialists, we are able to remove the worry and cost of sourcing custom components and to overcome installation issues for OEMs and production teams, who are more than happy to outsource this element to us. With continuity of supply assured at a reasonable cost, and with the attractive energy efficiency credentials of LEDs, the popularity of this technology can only increase.”
