Stretch information panels bring 24/7 reliability

The new stretched professional information display (PID) panels from Samsung Semiconductor Europe are available from distributor Display Solutions. The panels come in 29-inch (1920x540) and 37-inch (1920x540) with a 49-inch (1920x540) version arriving in the near future. Samsung’s stretched PID panels are manufactured using a native glass sizes and are NOT machine cut and reassembled.

The main benefits of these stretched PID panels are high product reliability for 24/7 operation, innovative design by using native mask LCD glass sizes as well asultra-wide viewing angle and 110°C Tni.

The 29-inch 1920x540 is available in 500 cd/m² brightness (LTI290LN01) with a 1000 cd/m² brightness version coming within 2016. Both brightness versions have comparable outline dimensions and an aspect ratio of 32:9.

The 37-inch 1920x540 is available in 700cd/m² (LTI370LN01) and a 1500cd/m² high brightness version will be launched b/Q4 2016. While conventional bar displays are made using machine cut LCD cells, Samsung’s stretched PID panels are made using a native cut cell.

This gives the Samsung panels a significant improvement in quality for issues like broken glass or sealing, micro cracks, light leakage or failures due to transport and/or unsuitable packing.

Due to the uniquedesign Samsung’s stretched PID panels are suitable for a range of different applications such as transportation (train or bus), digital signage, retail, kiosks and vending machines.
