Relec breaks the boundaries with 9″ TFT screens
Relec Electronics adds three 9″ TFT screens for equipment engineers looking for a better surface area to work with than that provided by conventional 7″ displays – without the expense associated with 10″ models.
Increased demand for screens in equipment has led to problems for equipment manufacturers looking for something larger than the conventional 7″ displays but who are reluctant to increase the size, or cost, to integrate a 10″ screen.
At 9 inches, the latest TFT displays fill the size gap perfectly. The WVGA and WSGA displays have wide screen 16:9 aspect rations and 800 x 400 to 1024 x 600 pixels RGB resolution.
Interface options are LVDS and HDMI inputs and PCAP touchscreens in a choice of cover glass thicknesses can be fitted for increased input versatility. Displays by manufacturers, Digiwise and Futurelabs, are available with a range of specialist treatment options, for example optical bonding, enhancement films and anti-bacterial treatments for medical applications. There is also the capability to supply true daylight viewing displays and interface boards.
The Futurelabs IPS (In-Plane Switching) 9″ TFT displays have an operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C. This temperature capability makes them ideal for use in some of the harshest environments, for example in defence, transportation and remote industrial applications.
Additionally, all Futurelabs displays are available with Rocktouch Rugged Line PCAP touch panels. This is practical for heavy industrial applications where the screen many be subjected to noise and water or operated with gloved hands.
The changing landscape of equipment design means that futureproofing is desirable. Relec offers a futureproofing service, ensuring continued supply of hardware, circuits and backlights which are proprietary to DigiWise and Futurelabs. The service ensures that even if a panel becomes end-of-line, Relec can continue supply through a managed process and importantly keep customers informed at all stages.
