Kontron, a global provider of IoT/Embedded Computer Technology (ECT), is now also using processors from the Intel N and Intel Core i3 N series as well as Intel Atom X7000 processors (code-named 'Alderlake N' and 'Amston Lake') in its FlatClient ECO Panel PC series, which offer particularly high processor and graphics capacity with low power dissipation and an excellent price/performance ratio.

The even higher-performance PRO line is also growing and is being expanded to include the FlatClient PRO-RPL based on 13th generation Intel Core processors (code-named 'Raptor Lake'), which provide a significant increase in performance with their 10 cores. The Intel Iris Xe GPU supports up to 96 execution units and enables AI acceleration, complemented by Intel Deep Learning Boost and Intel Gaussian & Neural Accelerator 3.0, which provides cost-effective and energy-efficient AI processing.

The new FlatClient ECO-AML/ADN with Intel N97, Intel Core i3 N processors or Intel Atom X7000 series processors provides two Display Ports and two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, just like the FlatClient PRO-RPL, which is based on 13th generation Intel Core processors. The FlatClient AML/ADN offers four USB interfaces, including three fast USB 3.2 ports, one of which has a USB-C socket. The FlatClient PRO-RPL provides four USB 3.2 ports.

The Panel PCs offer high-performance DDR5 RAM and M.2 SSDs with up to one TByte are used for mass storage. Fast wireless connections via Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth can also be integrated.

The robust Panel PCs with full metal housing are easy to clean thanks to their scratch-resistant and seamless tempered glass front. The displays with anti-glare and anti-fingerprint surface finishing in sizes from 10.1” to 23.8” are therefore easy to read even under difficult lighting conditions and offer brilliant and detailed visualisation with WXGA/Full-HD resolution – the best prerequisites for user-friendly and innovative machine operation.

With their closed, fanless metal housing and robust system design, the compact FlatClient Panel PCs achieve a long service life and high system availability even in harsh industrial environments and have already proven themselves thousands of times in industrial environments. The Panel PCs are available either as a built-in version, for example for mounting in control cabinet doors or control panels, or as a device for mounting on brackets and support arms in accordance with the VESA standard. This allows the devices to be easily integrated into a wide range of installation environments.

With the optionally available 'QIWI toolkit', all Panel PCs can be transformed into an intuitive web panel that is easy to configure and maintain. To meet the increased cyber security requirements, Kontron offers the hardened and secure Linux-based operating system KontronOS.

The easy-to-clean, anti-reflective and scratch-resistant display offers IP65 protection, so-called 'dirty corners' or 'dirty edges' are avoided by a completely flush glass front and beveled housing surfaces. The projected capacitive multi-touch (PCAP) can also be operated with gloves, detects drops (drop rejection) and the palm of the hand (palm rejection) and thus ensures safe operability.

Customer-specific solutions can be implemented quickly and cost-effectively, from flexibility in display size, computing performance and memory expansion, to application-specific touch settings, I/O adjustments, security-related hardening of BIOS and operating system, software installation, individual branding, customized service and repair kits and special packaging.
