Suitable for business environments such as trading rooms, back offices, and control rooms, IPS monitors have been released by EIZO. Featuring a 'fusion' design, the FlexScan EV2455 and EV2450 house the company's EcoView technologies in a compact cabinet. The EcoView technologies provide reduced power consumption and improved visual ergonomics.

Featuring a depth of 47.9mm and 1mm bezels on the sides and top, the monitors reduce eye movement in a multi-monitor setup. Both monitors are provided with an ergonomic stand with 140mm height adjustment, 40° tilt (5° down, 35° up), and 344° swivel. To allow users to take advantage of the bezels even when using two monitors side-by-side in portrait mode, the monitors are designed to pivot 90° clockwise and counter-clockwise.

When viewing the screen at an angle, colour shift and contrast changes are minimised by the use of an LED-backlit in-plane switching LCD panel with a 178° viewing angle. Conventional LED-backlit monitors use brightness dimming methods which causes many people to see flicker and experience eye fatigue. EIZO have used a hybrid technology within it's monitors to make flicker unperceivable even at low brightness levels. The FlexScan EV2455 and EV2450, on average, exhibited 74% less flicker than LED-backlit monitors from other manufacturers, the company claims. In dimly-lit work environments, brightness is adjustable to 1cd/m2, which is less than 1% of the maximum. To meet the requirements of businesses, the monitors feature DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI-D, and D-Sub mini 15-pin interfaces.

The FlexScan EV2455, which is offered with 5.2mm black borders, features a 24.1" screen size and a native resolution of 1920x1200. Offered with 4.3mm black borders, the FlexScan EV2450 features a 23.8" screen and a native resolution of 1920x1080. The typical brightness is 300cd/m2 for the FlexScan EV2455 and 250cd/m2 for the EV2450. Both monitors feature a contrast ratio of 1000:1.

The EcoView technologies reduce typical power consumption to 13W for the EV2455 and 12W for the EV2450. By reducing the backlight brightness and increasing the gain on screens consisting mostly of dark content, the EcoView Optimizer 2 saves power. The Auto EcoView automatically adjusts the screen’s brightness in accordance with changes in the ambient brightness to trim power usage while reducing eye fatigue. The user's movements and body heat are detected by the EcoView Sense 2, which switches to power save mode when the user leaves the desk.

The screen adjustment is simplified by two EIZO's ScreenManager Pro and EIZO Monitor Configuration software programmes. With the ScreenManager Pro, users can adjust colour and EcoView settings with the mouse and keyboard instead of the on-screen display menu. The software also offers multi-monitor matching which allows adjustments to be applied to all FlexScan monitors connected to a single PC. Using the Monitor Configurator, administrators can control the settings of all FlexScan EV monitors with a USB connection. The settings of one monitor can be applied to other monitors.

Five preset modes are included – sRGB, Movie, Paper, and two modes with user-adjustable settings. Paper mode reduces the amount of blue light to help prevent eye fatigue. The monitors, which are offered with a five-year warranty, will be available in the UK from 1st December 2014.
