GPEG's Transflective TFT Technology solves ‘Sunlight Readability’ problems.
EG has the answer to the question of TFT readability in bright sunlight and high ambient light conditions, Transflective TFT Technology (T4). At last design engineers can have the best of both worlds, an easy to read, high contrast, wide viewing angle TFT display where the displayed image actually gets brighter under high ambient light conditions especially direct sunlight.
To eThe first of GPEG’s T4 displays is a compact 3.5 inch QVGA (320x240) TFT with a viewing area of 71.0x54.0mm and an overall thickness of only 2.93mm.
The display has a wide viewing angle 55/55 L/R 45/45 U/D and will display 262K colours using the 6 bit RGB or SPI interface. The low power LED backlight provides a surface brightness of 90cd/m2 which ensures excellent readability in low ambient light conditions.
GPEG has included the option of a touch screen for easy operator interface, currently this is a resistive type; however full ‘multitouch’ projective capacitive will be available within two months, which supports all the functionality of modern touch technology; zoom, swipe, pinch etc.
The T4 Transflective TFT’s from GPEG overcome the existing constraints of TFT’s thus enabling designers of handheld equipment, medical instruments and any display device that needs to be used in sunlight, to have a high visibility colour display that will enhance their products performance.
